QUALIFICATIONS and POLICIES:
1. The entry must be stitched by a PASG member. Work by more than one stitcher may be entered by one of
the stitchers who is a PASG member; the names of all the stitchers who worked on the piece should be listed and
their work credited. One ribbon will be awarded if the work scores high enough for that honor.
2. The show chairs will determine the appropriateness of an entry's medium and category, and reserve the
right to reclassify the entry.
3. Entered pieces may be of any size; any needlework larger than 36" needing to be hung on Guild quilt
racks requires a fabric sleeve (4" wide finished) on the reverse side of the needlework which is large enough for the
PVC pipe from which the quilt racks are made.
4. Entered pieces may have been exhibited in other shows but not in a previous PASG competition.
5. Stitching of entry must have been completed within the last three (3) years.
6. The judged show committee will inform the judges about the long-standing policy of awarding a blue
ribbon only if the needlework with the highest score earns a minimum of ninety points (average if more than one
judge) or a red ribbon if the needlework with the highest score earns a minimum of eighty points (average if more
than one judge).
7. An artists statement on a separate piece of paper is required for original and adaptation categories and
optional for all other categories. If changes are made to a kit, stitch guide, color guide, pattern, graph, etc., an
artist's statement is suggested. An artist’s statement should express the source of the needlework's inspiration and
the stitcher's creative intent. It shall include, where possible, photos of the original idea or source of the adaptation
and helpful photos and/or small drawings of the work's development.
