Greetings to all of you,
After a long and difficult winter, I am pleased to announce that spring is on the
horizon. It may take a little detour, but it will arrive with all its glory and visions of color:
the green of the new leaves, the myriad of tulip colors and that glorious color of the
redbud trees. This why we live here in the Midwest. A spring day here is worth the sting
of winter winds.
The Judged Show is approaching. I hope that all of you will make an effort to enter
something in the show. The Committee has worked very hard to make this the best show
we have had. We have three excellent judges that are certified in a majority of the
categories. We have added some things that will provide more feedback on the pieces
that are submitted. So make your reservations and submit one piece in the show. Check
the newsletter for deadlines and collectors.
I want to thank Marti W. and Donna N. for being willing to become
officers. It is a commitment on their part and on behalf of the Guild, we appreciate their
time and effort. For other Guild members, please consider volunteering your time and
effort in some capacity. Anna P. is resigning as historian of the Guild. Is there
anyone interested and willing to take over this position? Please let me know. I will be
contacting people to find a replacement for Anna. Anna, I want to thank you for all you
have done for the Guild. Members like you are the backbone of our organization.
The bus trip to Zionsville is filling up so get your reservations in. The cost is $45:
the date is September 17th. We are also offering a class in Rozashi, a form of Japanese
Embroidery. The cost of this class is $80.00. This an opportunity to learn how to do
Rozashi from one the premier instructors. More information is on the Upcoming Events page.
I hope to see you and all your glorious needlework at the Spring Luncheon.
