New Miniature in the Gallery

|
It's been a bit of a hectic start to the new year, but we are up and rolling.  The new project page is working beautifully.  There is now a 2009 section to the Gallery, with the latest finished project.

In a few weeks there should be some new items in the store and hopefully a new addition to the project page.  Check back soon to see even more minis.

Changes

|
Happy New Year, everyone!

I've decided to change the format of the How-To projects.  Instead of changing it every month now there will be a page that directs you to several all at once.  They will stay up until I run out of room and new ones will be added occasionally.

I decided to make this change because I spent so much time working on the monthly project that I didn't have time to create any new items for the store or work on my own projects.  So in order for things to become more like fun and less like work, I'm making this change.

Getting the code ready will take me a couple of days, but it should be up and running smoothly by the end of this week.  This also means I will be less strained when it gets closer to the summer months and might be attending shows.

No updates

|
I'm sorry to say that this month there will be no updates.  Between family emergencies, illness, and the holidays coming closer we just cannot seem to catch a break.  We will start updated the How-To page and hopefully get some new items posted after the New Year.

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday.

Family Emergency

|
Due to a sudden family emergency the December project of the month will be at least a week late.  My sister is in the hospital and very, very ill.  My energies need to be with my family right now.  Thank you in advance for any and all kind thoughts.

This is what I get for planning

|
My husband and I have come down with something.  No doubt from being out in the cold last week.  The November project will happen as quickly as possible, hopefully by election day.

New Links

|
Happy Halloween everyone!  I just wanted to make a couple of announcements.

First, there are new links to some wonderful printie and how-to pages.  Jennifer of "Jennifer's Printables" kindly offered to let me link to her wonderful pages.  Please go see how great her printies are.  I have used some of her things in my own projects and I think you will love it as much as I do.  Also linked is "Jim's Printable Minis," another wonderful site that has been extremely helpful to me for many years.

Second the November project should be up on time.  Here's hoping the best lain plans of Kats and minis works out.

minor delays

|
We've had some minor delays in getting the next project on-line.  I confess I'm mostly to blame, since we're having company and I decided the house needed to become presentable.  Will any luck there will be a new project, new links, and perhaps a few new items uploaded before the weekend is over.

Thanks for your patience. :-)

Peoria, IL Miniature Show

|
I have been given the responsibility of coordinating the Peoria Miniature Show for 2009.  If things do not get "cross-threaded" I should also have a table there for my first miniature show sales ever.  My loving and oh-so-patient husband has agreed to help me with the table so I can be free to take care of anything that comes up during the show if it needs my attention.

More news will come as I get more information.  I will also be putting a link to P.A.M.S. (Peoria Area Miniature Society) up on the main Kat's Paw page.  Not only will there be show information, but also information about our group and the minis we create.

I will try to have pictures of our latest group project up in October.  Twelve of us built adorable stores with stone facades under the direction of Marti Winzler.  We were happily squished into Marti's kitchen for eight hours, with her dear husband running a saw in the basement to cut the backs to our stores.  She was a great teacher and we all loved the project and the time we got to spend together.

August news

|
Due to me having to leave town and help our friend, brad, move I have already updated the page to August.

However...

While the monthly project page is done and functional, it is not "pretty."  That is something I will have to remedy when I return next week.  I hope the beach bag project is one folks will enjoy.

Also there are a few new teddy bears in the store.

I hope to get some more food items up soon.  I was prevented from doing much clay work this month while searching for a "day job."  So we shall see where life leads us.

Oh, and certain roombox designs will not be available until Brad gets his new shop set up in Kansas.  We're not sure how long that will take.  But I will let you all know when he's back to playing.

Cheers!
