It's been a bit of a hectic start to the new year, but we are up and rolling. The new project page is working beautifully. There is now a 2009 section to the Gallery, with the latest finished project.
In a few weeks there should be some new items in the store and hopefully a new addition to the project page. Check back soon to see even more minis.
I've decided to change the format of the How-To projects. Instead of changing it every month now there will be a page that directs you to several all at once. They will stay up until I run out of room and new ones will be added occasionally.
I decided to make this change because I spent so much time working on the monthly project that I didn't have time to create any new items for the store or work on my own projects. So in order for things to become more like fun and less like work, I'm making this change.
Getting the code ready will take me a couple of days, but it should be up and running smoothly by the end of this week. This also means I will be less strained when it gets closer to the summer months and might be attending shows.
Due to a sudden family emergency the December project of the month will be at least a week late. My sister is in the hospital and very, very ill. My energies need to be with my family right now. Thank you in advance for any and all kind thoughts.
It's election night and the November project is up. We still don't know who will lead our country next year, but you can relax with a fun new project until then.
This month we have an adorable snowman made from wooden flowerpots from a craft store. I hope you enjoy him as much as I do.
My husband and I have come down with something. No doubt from being out in the cold last week. The November project will happen as quickly as possible, hopefully by election day.
The October Project is now uploaded for your crafting pleasure. There are three quick and easy items that would fit in at a Halloween party: bobbing for apples, a Halloween piñata, and a Halloween themed wreath.
Also new this month are links to the Peoria Area Miniature Society and the Miniature Museum of Greater St. Louis.
I have been given the responsibility of coordinating the Peoria Miniature Show for 2009. If things do not get "cross-threaded" I should also have a table there for my first miniature show sales ever. My loving and oh-so-patient husband has agreed to help me with the table so I can be free to take care of anything that comes up during the show if it needs my attention.
More news will come as I get more information. I will also be putting a link to P.A.M.S. (Peoria Area Miniature Society) up on the main Kat's Paw page. Not only will there be show information, but also information about our group and the minis we create.
I will try to have pictures of our latest group project up in October. Twelve of us built adorable stores with stone facades under the direction of Marti Winzler. We were happily squished into Marti's kitchen for eight hours, with her dear husband running a saw in the basement to cut the backs to our stores. She was a great teacher and we all loved the project and the time we got to spend together.
For those of you who checked in for September's project at the beginning of the month I'm sorry it was not up an running on time. We've been dealing with a very sick bunny and really lost track of the days.
But the project is now up for your mini pleasure. I hope you enjoy!
